Purchase vs. Rent: What are my options?
Oshawa Airport Hangarminiums has 80 units available for purchase and for rent. So which one is the better option for you?
When you purchase a Hangarminium at Oshawa Airport Hangarminiums, you purchse the storage space and the land it sits on. Since the space is a Condominium Corporation, there is a small monthly condo fee included. This fee will cover mostly insurance, snow removal and other maintenance work. This montly condo fee is determined based on the size of your Hangarminium, which will range from 1070 sq. ft. and up.

Purchasing a Hangarminium

With our project you will own the building and the land that it sits on. The Oshawa Airport has a 25 year renewal with Transport Canada to operate. So if after the 25 years (March 31, 2047), the City Of Oshawa should decide that they no longer require an airport, they (the City) would have the option to purchase your property back from you at the then-current market value of an operating aviation hangar. This project is a condominium, which will mean a small monthly condo fee mostly due to insurance and snow removal. The price of the condo fee is determined based on the size of the unit.
Here is some general information:
You would not be able to operate a business out of the hangars as we do not have commercial zoning. But you can park a company owned airplane there.
Each unit will be individually metered for Hydro and each owner will be responsible for their own meter usage.
None of the t-hangar units are heated but they are all insulated as per the Standard Specification attachment.
HST is in addition to the purchase price, unless you can provide an HST Number.
